Happy Monday - H[ippity] Hop!

Whee! 5 days til Christmas? How did THAT happen?!?!?!

A nice, quick, simple project for you today. This one can be adapted to most any occasion, so I hope it's useful! :)

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday. I'm not quite sure how my "baby" ended up to be 22 - I'm not that old! But, I needed a gift card holder....

Supplies used:

Ippity, Party Hat Wishes
American Crafts cardstock
random cardstock
Copics
Spica markers
tiny attacher

Simple! Take a 4.5 inch by 8.5 inch piece of cardstock. Score from one end 1.5 inch, 3 inch, and 4.5 inch - fold to create a pocket. I'm totally addicted to my tiny attacher at the moment, so I used staples...but adhere however you'd like. :)

Score 1.5 inch down from the other end, to create a flap. Take a 4.5 by 1.75 inch piece of patterned paper, contrasting cardstock, etc. Decorate as you'd like.

Then, attach your flap. I used Zip repositionable adhesive. You could use a velcro dot, tack it over and over, or any temporary attachment you'd like.

Happy Monday! Ippity sets have free shipping at the moment, click on Hot Ippity Dawg at the top to see yours! :)

Unity Addict Challenge!!!

My favorite thing about Wednesdays...the new Unity addict challenge! Hop over to the Unity forum on SCS and play with us!

This week's challenge - the stamp kissing technique! Here's my sample:

Supplies used:

Unity - June 2010 kit of the month
Ippity - Dots for sure
Piggy Tales patterned paper
random cardstock
Copics
Michael's ribbon
Fiskars border punch

How does stamp kissing work? First, I stamped the bird with Memento - London Fog. Then, I stamped Dots for Sure with Memento - Paris Dusk. Then, I "kissed" the bird with the Dots for Sure stamp - presto, Paris Dusk dots on my bird!

Then, stamp the cardstock. Cool effect, eh?

This card uses this week's Mojo Monday sketch, too. Thanks for looking, and happy Wednesday! Stop back tomorrow for....Ippity Release Day!!! Yay!!!

Right now, click that big button below this. C'mon, go ahead, I'll wait - and vote for Operation Write Home in Joann's Craft for a Cause. $50k is worth a 'lil click, isn't it?

See? That was easy. And you can do it every day! :)

So, why are we chatting about Valentine's before the turkey is even cooked? (For those of us in the US....our Canadian friends get their gravy in October) That whole transporter thing isn't working out so well, so OWH has to allow time for cards to get from here to there, then back again. Christmas is over, finished, done, kaput! Valentine's Day is underway, and the deadline for Valentine's Day cards to arrive at a shipper is:

January 7, 2011

Wanna hear something else cool? Archway is gonna send COOKIES, if we send valentines. How awesome is that? All the details on how to participate are right HERE.

Yeah, I know. Stop talking already, and get to the cards, right? I'm sooooo not a typical Valentine's, Cupid, who wants an arrow in their butt kind of person. And I figure I can't be the only one, so my take on Valentine's Day...

First up, one of my favorite Ippity sets - Now and Always.

The second prize, a stamp from Shirley's 2 Girls - Puppy Love. S2G has gone digital, but this is a real live acrylic stamp.

Ya never know what else I might be tempted to toss in there, too. How do you get in for the goodies? Just leave a comment. :) I'll leave it open thru Sunday....and announce the winners on Monday.

Enjoy your weekend, eh? And go make a card for OWH!
